Music Library Best Place to Get Cool Music for Brands

Music for ballet class has evolved a great deal over the last century. It began much the same way as music for silent pictures did. A pianist would use a compilation of music notation known as a fakebook. This would be a book or notebook which the pianist would make themselves, one which contained abbreviated versions of music from the great ballets.

Courtney Love, looking surprisingly fabulous, showed up at NY Fashion Week last week and agreed to do a short interview with the blog XO Jane. Over the course of the 2 1/2 minute chat, Courtney talks about a wide range of topics … from “crazy bitch lit” books to credit scores. I mean … it’s [...]

Selena Gomez is in LURVE with a boy named Justin. And not just any boy named Justin … but none other than THE Justin Bieber … the young popstar who is worshipped and adored by millions of little girls and boys all around the world. SO … you wanna know how I know that Selena is in lurve with Justin? Well, because she inked his name on her wrist! Now that’s lurve. Check out the photo below.

Now … before y’all freak out … Selena only used ink to write Justin‘s name on her wrist … looks like Sharpie marker, actually. Now, it is usually considered the kiss of death to get someone’s name tattooed on their person … but with mere ink, I think Justena will be OK … don’t you?

90210 star Trevor Donovan felt inspired to do a bit of redecorating at his home here in SoCal and he decided that he didn’t need to wear a shirt while doing so. Trevor needed to take some measurements of his balcony before he could hang up his bamboo curtain. It would appear that Trev had a bit of trouble gettin’ the measurements right, which meant that he was on that balcony shirtless for quite a while … which means that he put on quite a show worth watching.

Ahh … such a simple task … such lovely photos. All I know is if Trevor Donovan would like to come to my home to take measurements here, I’d be very happy to have him. In fact, I wouldn’t mind hanging an entire set of new window treatments in our home so if Trevor would like to come on over and leave his shirt at home, I would really be quite OK with that :D

Celebrity Couple of the Week: Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon

Our Celebrity Couple of the Week are none other than Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon! The two were talked about quite a bit this week, as dem babies came into the world last Saturday, on the same day they celebrated their wedding anniversary. Then, we waited patiently for the announcement revealing their twins’ names, which was finally announced on May 4th. What a whirlwind week it’s been for both! Here’s a little history lesson on this celebrity couple… They first met when he made a cameo appearance in her video, ‘Bye, Bye’, in early 2008. They wed on April 30th, 2008 at her estate in the Bahamas and news of their nuptials was a surprise to many, as they reportedly had only been dating for two months. Rumors and speculation abound that their wedding was simply a publicity stunt, but we all know now that was not the case. It was revealed later that Mariah had miscarried shortly after she and Nick wed. It was widely known how much Mariah wanted to have children. Finally, in October of 2010, after several months of rumors circulating, it was confirmed that she was indeed pregnant and the two were expecting in the [...]

The State of The Music Industry for Unsigned Artists

Rap music is "in" today is not the same from the beginning. It originated from the West African region. This style of music became popular in the United States around 1970, but it was earlier termed as disco rap. This genre is sometimes deemed synonymous with Hip hop but it is not true. It has influenced hip hop music deeply and its popularity has taken a backseat, however, its subgenres have greatly developed, like Pop rap is the earlier version of hip-hop.

Tickets for Tweens

Learning guitar requires lots of patience and discipline. These are qualities that you should cultivate within yourself. Don't let the feeling of slow progress get to you. Provided you are putting in consecutive practice days, the big improvement is definitely there. Even if you can only squeeze in only twenty practice minutes a day, do that and don't stop to be pessimistic. You see learning guitar is like learning a language. The difference between the fluent French speaking person and the incoherent one is the fact that one speaks the language more often that the other. Needless to say, the same applies for guitar, those who play great guitar practice daily while the average guitarist is inconsistent and erratic when it comes to practice.

The Influences of Colonial Europeans on the Music of the Black African Slaves of the Americas

When it comes to the South as a whole, there are many different dimensions and regions to consider. Especially when you're talking about rap music. In no particular order, these are my picks for the best southern rap groups of all time.

Wrapped Up With Here Come The Mummies

I have picked out, in my opinion, the 5 Best Techno Songs of the Twenty-First Century. I enjoy a wide variety of electronic music, so some of these picks might be better classified as Rave, Electronic Dance, Trance, Eurodance, Electronica or maybe even House. Genres are getting a little too specific anyway, and there are way too many different classifications. So, if the song was at least partly synthetic, and had a good enough beat to dance to, then it made my list.

Trey Songz Passion, Pain and Pleasure Album Review

Luthiers are the artisans that take pride in building and preparing guitars. They do not only build guitars but also work on violas, cellos, luters, double basses, violins, and mandolins. These days most modern day luthiers specialize in guitars to make their living. Typical wood used in guitar construction are rosewood, mahogany or maple. It is an art form to build a quality guitar because the tone of the guitar is completely dependent on the quality of the wood, shape and construction methods used by the luthier.

The Lennon Inspired Paul McCartney Lyrics

To learn the guitar, one must know its roots and origin. Guitar history dictates that this piece of musical instrument was developed in the 12th century. Before, it was simply described as any instrument that was plucked or strummed, characterized by a long fretted neck with a flat soundboard. All guitars of those times were made of wood and did not have a universal form.

The Most Poignant Elvis Costello Lyrics Of All

With so many Effects Pedals out there, how is a musician to know what order they should be in when chaining them together? Eric Johnson and Jimi Hendrix used their wah-wah first in line. Carlos Santana puts a Tube Screamer before his wah-wah. Many artists bend the "rules" to get different sounds. There is no set "Rules" for chaining your effects pedals, but there are some known standard pedal set-up.

Depending on your age and musical tastes, you might've been exposed to Henry Rollins as he ground it out in punk rock titans Black Flag. Or like me, you might've been an impressionable teen, watching that "Liar" video get heavy play on MTV's Alternative Nation. I'm sure there are folks out there who only know Rollins from his books and spoken word performances, or his numerous television and film appearances. The tattooed dude with the muscles, right? Regardless, you know that guy. Almost as fascinating as the cult of personality that has grown around Henry Rollins over the years is the way he's deftly navigated a creative life, always working with a desperation that one day it could all go away-IT being the audiences, the paying public, the speaking gigs and acting opportunities. That fear is common in Hollywood, but in Rollins' case I think it has only served as motivation: to leave it on the stage every single night (whether he's speaking or screaming) and make every sentence count. One reason why I can claim I've never, ever been disappointed in Henry Rollins.

Taylor Swift How to Get Great Tickets Closer to Taylor

12:30pm, Tuesday March 15th. I lay in bed with a nasty fever as I receive a call from the Deftones publicist letting me know Chino would be available for an interview at 3:30 that day. I knew I had an upcoming interview with him, but no idea it would be that soon, so needless to say, I was not completely prepared. Luckily, I, along with some close friends (who also love the Deftones) were able to come up with a quick interview in the short time we had! My gratitude goes out to them as well as Chino Moreno for taking the time to do the interview!

Celebrity Couple of The Week: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

It’s a new weekly feature here on Right Celebrity, the Celebrity Couple of the Week, where we spotlight a twosome in the news. Hands down the honor should go to none other than the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate. Their Royal Wedding was simply amazing, wasn’t it? I just cannot stop talking about it. We have a full gallery of pictures and a timeline in videos leading up to the wedding right here! It’s hard to believe that 30 years ago I woke up early as a youngster to catch a glimpse of Princess Diana marry her Prince. Little did I know that I would do the same in 1997 to watch her funeral. Fast forward almost 14 years later, and I watch in amazement as her eldest son, Prince William, marries the love of his love, Kate Middleton. It was the wedding of the century, no doubt, and surely Princess Diana was looking down at her son beaming with pride. He, along with his brother, are truly her sons. It was evident when on the eve before his nuptials, he took a stroll down the Mall and greeted fans. He shook their hands, posed for pictures [...]

How to Distribute Your Music Online

The Beatles are well-documented; little is left to note about them. Mention of their name recalls specific imagery and memories for many, and it is very possible that they were the most important group to emerge from the rock and roll movement. In the 1960's, Beatlemania swept multiple nations and captured the attention and consciousness of an entire generation.

Using a Beat Maker to Make Trance Beats

Mannheim Steamroller is a pioneer of the new age music genre, and has continuously been producing albums for the last several decades. I am a huge fan and have picked out, in my opinion, the 5 best Mannheim Steamroller songs from their Fresh Aire I album released in 1975. This album was actually used to demo hi-fi equipment, and customers would say "I like this stereo system, but I really love the record you're playing. Who is that?" So, that's how the Fresh Aire series got its start. Each of the first four Fresh Aire albums are based on a season, and Spring is the theme for Fresh Aire I. Chip Davis said the following about it: "Vivaldi did a nice piece called the "Seasons", and this sounded like a good idea for an overall concept (since Fresh Aire I seemed very "Springish") for any albums that would come later in the series. Of course, at the onset there were no plans for a whole series. We felt we'd be doing well to get one album off the ground. In fact it was the listening public's request for "Fresh Aire II" that spurred the idea to start a series."
